Much of the west of the Westlynn area of North Vancouver was developed in the last two decades or so whereas, the east of Westlynn is older. One unique feature of Westlynn, and unusual for North Vancouver, is that it hosts predominantly rancher homes. These are single family bungalows on one level. The western area of Westlynn, or the ‘newer’ area of Westlynn, offers large homes on ‘small’ lots. There are two elementary schools in Westlynn (Lynn Valley and Sutherland).
