The Westlynn Terrace area of the District of North Vancouver is situated on the edge of Lynn Canyon Park. Many of the homes are on lots which slope towards the Canyon. The look and feel of the area is that of ‘being in the woods’. Lynn Canyon Park was officially opened in 1912 and then was only 12 acres big. Today Lynn Canyon Park encompasses 2.5 square Kilometers with many hiking trails and places to walk dogs. The park is a ‘second growth’ forest with most of the oldest trees being around one hundred years old. Much of the original forest was logged in the late nineteenth century and it is possible to find many large tree stumps where the enormous rainforest trees used to be. There are two schools near to Westlynn Terrace (Ross road Elementary and Argyle)
