Pemberton is a small area of North Vancouver overlooked by the bluff of Pemberton Heights. The area is mainly flat up to the northern boundary on the Capilano River. Historically Pemberton was an area which was developed from the 1920s onwards to house the shipyard workers .Today some of the original housing remains though most have been renovated or altered. One of the most noteworthy apartment complexes in Pemberton is the Woodcroft Estate which has beautiful gardens and excellent facilities including a swimming pool and gym. There are no schools in the Pemberton area though there are two elementary schools and one high school in the neighbouring areas.
